11/26/2018 Welcome back! I hope everyone had a relaxing and peaceful week off from school. All middle students will be taking their Fall Math Benchmark this week. After testing, SE Math classes will begen our unit on measurements which will include area, perimeter, volume, and surface area. RTS students will be assigned their final project for the semester. Their final will be the Million Dollar Project. Students will be provided ample classtime to work on this and should not need to take any work home with them.
10/22/2018 This week, 8th grade will be wrapping up solving 2 step equations. Next week we will begin reviewing how to solve and graph inequalities. 6th and 7th grades are working on unit price and about to start unit rate.
All math classes will have a test this Wednesday.
This week is Red Ribbon Week! Monday- Wear Red! Tuesday- Dress like a tourist! *** Also, 7th Grade Field Trip*** Wednesday- Twin Day! Thursday- Camo Day! Friday- Jarrell Spirit Day!
9/10/18 Students will have a test or quiz every Wednesday. The lowest daily grade and test grade will be dropped at the end of each grading period.

5/7/2018 Power Math students will begin their final project today. Students will be budgeting a week long trip to Disney. Students will be given all instructions today and all information will be posted on google classroom. This will be the students final grade. The project will be due on Tuesday May 22nd.
5/4/2018 Only three weeks left until the school year is over. The 2nd administration of the STAAR test will be the week of May 14 and the 6th and 7th grade will test that week too. Let's end this year strong! Good luck to all 7th and 8th graders presenting at the Genius Hour tonight!
4/5/2018 STAAR Testing begins next week! Tuesday April 10th- 8th Grade Math STAAR and 7th Grade Writing STAAR Wednesday April 11th- 8th Grade Reading STAAR All other tests will be the 3rd week of May.
Power Math/RTS- This class will only be utilized as a study hall and STAAR review for the remainder of the school year. Students are to come to class prepared and with knowledge of what they need to work on.
3/2/2018 We are finishing up our area unit next week and closing out the quarter with it. Resource students are being assigned a project today where they will apply area and perimeter to the real world. Some outside work may be required depending on how productive the student is in class, but everyone will be given plenty of class time to complete the project at school. Projects will be due next Friday March 9th. This will be the first test grade of the 4th quarter.
2/16/2018 Grades will be pulled today for progress reports. Three more weeks until the end of the quarter and Spring Break! No School on Monday for students. Rest up, relax, and come back ready to tackle the next three weeks!
12/18/2017 Midterms are this week! Wednesday and Thursday will be testing schedule days. Friday will be the last day before the break and students will be released at 1:05pm. Wednesday- Midterms for 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th Periods Thursday- Midterms for 2nd, 4th, and 6th Periods

12/4/2017 Only three more weeks, and then this semester will come to a close! A reminder to students, to stay on top of any projects or studying for tests and upcoming midterms. Midterms will be held Wednesday December 20th and Thursday December 21st. Resource math be having a traditional midterm test. Power math will be introduced to the project today, which will count for their midterm grade. Power classes will present during scheduled midterm testing.
11/16/2017 Reminders! Math Benchmark testing will be the week we return from Thanksgiving break. Make sure you get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast. There is no school next week. Enjoy the break! Students are finishing up this week with test corrections over solving two step inequalities. Power Math has had a good week of review.
10/30/2017 Reminder: Math testing days will only be on Wednesdays. This week we will be wrapping up converting measurements. Students got to see real world applications of this with their park projects 2 weeks ago. Thursday we will being looking at inequalities. Power Math- Students will wrap up graphs and begin looking at inequalities. Reminder to Power Math students: Bring any and all work you need to complete for other classes!
9/15/2017 Open House is Tuesday September 26th from 6pm-7pm at the middle school! Please come and meet the teachers and see what your students will be working on this year!
8/25/17 We are finishing up our first week of the new school year! Students have done a great job of getting back into the routine. Next week students will be taking their beginning of year screeners on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday we will dive into our first unit. Hope everyone has a relaxing and safe weekend!

Students will be provided a study guide for the final that we will work together in class on Monday and Tuesday. Finals will be Wednesday and Thursday May 24 and 25. Let's finish this year strong!
April 19, 2017 All classes, 6th and 8th grade, are finishing up their second week of personal financial literacy. There will be a test Friday the 21st to close out this unit. The next two weeks will be nothing but STAAR preparation and review. Students will have daily assignments and a weekly quiz up until STAAR testing.
March 20, 2017 8th Graders will be taking the 1st administration of the Math STAAR next Tuesday March 28th. No tests will be given to 8th graders that week in my class. We will be reviewing and building on lessons we have previously learned this school year in preparation for the STAAR.
February 23, 2017 Students definitely came back refreshed after their long 4 day weekend. Only two more weeks until Spring Break! Due to some schedule changes next week, some lessons are going to be pushed back. Due to this, 6th and 8th grade students will have a math project due Friday March 3rd. Class time may be used for this next week, however students may need to bring some work home. Students will be designing their own house while finding certain perimeters and areas as they go. I hope the students enjoy this project and get a taste for how much they will use math in the real world.

6th and 8th Grade will have a quiz this week, Friday February 3rd. There will not be a quiz in math next week due to the shortened classes and benchmarks.
December 7, 2016 I am so impressed with what I have seen from everyone's Million Dollar Project so far! The research done and presentation of the information has just blown me away. I am very pleased with what I am seeing. Some students have already turned the project in, but please remember the final due date is Tuesday December 13th! Midterms will be next week as well. 7th period will have their final on Wednesday. 2nd, 4th, and 6th period will have their midterm on Thursday.
November 14, 2016 I am very proud of everyone's performance on the Fall Benchmark! We will be reviewing some previous material this week regarding mean, median, mode and range. I hope that everyone gives their best effort this week before a relaxing Thanksgiving break!
November 3, 2016 Students in Ms. Teichman's 6th and 8th grade math classes will be benchmark testing next week November 7-10, Monday-Thursday. Students are expected to treat this as a practice test for the STAAR. Students will be assigned a project next week. It is called the Million Dollar Project. Students will be given detailed instructions on Friday November 11th. Students will have every Friday until then to work on their project in class. Some students may need additional time at home. This project will be due Tuesday December 13th.
October 14, 2016 The Jarrell Middle School Fall Festival will be held Saturday October 29th from 5pm-9pm. We hope everyone can join us! 8th Graders will be taking a field trip this coming Tuesday to Fort Hood 7th Graders will be going to the Bob Bullock Museum November 1st.

September 1, 2016 Starting next week, tutoring times will be available. Students can come to any of these sessions to catch up on incomplete work, clarify understandings of new topics, or get any assistance they need. While it is preferred that you notify me in advance of tutoring times, please feel free to show up unannounced if needed.
